Seasons Residence in Niseko
Seasons Residence is a luxury retreat located in the world famous ski resort of Niseko. The owner and staff have tailored every aspect of the property and service to provide the ultimate in bespoke service. As such, every detail of the smart home installation has been meticulously crafted to further enhance the experience. This project marks the debut of a control4 smart home system in Japan.
Project Description
Due to the design of the system and the age of the equipment in the existing home cinema room, it was never easy for staff or guests to use. Working closely with Control4 engineers, we planned a complete renovation of the room to provide the ultimate home cinema experience. The property now boasts a state-of-the-art home cinema system and multi-room audio, all at the fingertips of the owner, staff and guests.
The sound system was upgraded to the latest Dolby Atmos standard with a 7.2.4 speaker setup, with 13 speakers in total. No matter where you sit, you’re guaranteed the same immersive cinema experience. The 133-inch screen steals the show, now spanning the entire front wall. We’ve chosen a 16:9 aspect ratio for the best experience, whether you’re watching TV, playing sports or enjoying a movie night. Combine the high quality screen with Sony’s latest 4K projector and you have a crystal clear visual feast!

There were frequent issues with the previous network and wireless setup. We designed and installed a new system with wireless access points in each room all wired back to a central location. Over 300m of network cable was run throughout the house. All equipment including the wireless access points, switches and router are from Araknis.
The existing network cameras were easily integrated into the Control4 system. The cameras can be viewed and controlled from any of the touchscreens, the home cinema room and via smartphone. An upgrade is already planned with additional cameras and a network video recorder to provide at least 90 days of playback.
