THE STORY

Introduction

The owner of Seasons Residence and his dedicated team have thoughtfully designed every element of the property and its services to deliver the highest level of bespoke hospitality. In line with this vision, the smart home system has been carefully designed to enhance the guest experience. This project proudly marks our first Control4 smart home installation in Japan.

The guest journey is personally curated by the owner and staff, with new features added each year to further enhance the smart home experience and create lasting memories for each guest.

While the original home cinema, networking and multi-room audio systems were installed when the property was built, they never lived up to expectations and were often difficult for staff and guests to operate.

A complete refurbishment was undertaken, replacing all outdated systems. Today, the residence boasts a state-of-the-art home cinema and seamless multi-room audio that can be easily controlled by the owner, staff and guests alike.

SMART HOME SYSTEM

Control4

Seasons Residence is equipped with a state-of-the-art multi-room audio system that delivers crystal clear sound throughout the property. Whether relaxing in the lounge, enjoying the heated pool or entertaining in the bar area, guests can enjoy personalised music in any room. Discreet in-ceiling speakers ensure an immersive listening experience without compromising on design.

At the heart of the system is Control4, providing seamless control for staff and guests. Music in any room can be selected and adjusted via touchscreens, handheld remotes or smartphone app. The intuitive interface makes it easy to manage individual zones or play synchronised audio throughout the property – all with a few taps.

NETWORKING & WIFI

Networking

The owner reported frequent problems with the previous network and wireless setup, which had become increasingly unreliable due to years of changes, mismatched equipment and poor cabling.

To address this, we designed and installed a completely new system, using high performance Araknis equipment throughout. Each room is equipped with a dedicated wireless access point, all neatly wired back to a central hub. We had to install over 300m of new CAT6 network cable.

The result is a robust, high-speed network that provides seamless internet access and effortlessly supports guests’ devices – whether they are streaming, working remotely or hosting events without interruption.

SURVEILLANCE

Camera System

The existing network cameras were easily integrated into the Control4 system. The cameras can be viewed and controlled from any of the touchscreens or remotely from the smartphone app.

Additional cameras have be installed in the wine cellar to monitor the expensive wine collection along with a network video recorder to provide playback functionality for up to 90 days.

ULTIMATE MOVIE EXPERIENCE

Bespoke Home Cinema

Due to the design of the system and the age of the equipment in the existing home cinema room, it was never easy for staff or guests to use. Working closely with Control4 engineers, we planned a complete renovation of the room to provide the ultimate home cinema experience.

The sound system was upgraded to the latest Dolby Atmos standard with a 7.2.4 speaker setup, with 13 speakers in total. No matter where you sit, you’re guaranteed the same immersive cinema experience. The 133-inch screen steals the show, now spanning the entire front wall. We’ve chosen a 16:9 aspect ratio for the best experience, whether you’re watching TV, playing sports or enjoying a movie night. Combine the high quality screen with Sony’s latest 4K projector and you have a crystal clear visual feast!
