Seasons Residence is a luxury retreat situated in the world-renowned ski resort of Niseko. Every aspect of the property and its services has been tailored by the owners to achieve the ultimate standard of alpine luxury.
THE STORY
Introduction
Every element of Seasons Residence has been thoughtfully designed by the owner and their dedicated team. In line with this vision, the smart home system has been designed to elevate the living experience seamlessly, marking our first Control4 installation in Japan.
This experience is personally curated, with new features integrated each year to continually enhance comfort and convenience.
Although the property was originally built with a home cinema, networking and multi-room audio systems, these fell short of expectations and proved frustrating to operate. To resolve this issue, the outdated technology was completely refurbished. Today, the residence boasts a state-of-the-art home cinema and intuitive multi-room audio, giving the owner effortless control.
SMART HOME SYSTEM

Seasons Residence boasts a state-of-the-art multi-room audio system, delivering crystal-clear sound throughout the property. Whether you are relaxing in the lounge, unwinding by the heated pool or entertaining guests in the bar area, personalised music can accompany you into any space. Discreet in-ceiling speakers provide an immersive listening experience without compromising the home’s interior design.
Control4 sits at the heart of the system, providing seamless management of every zone. Music can be effortlessly selected and adjusted via dedicated touchscreens, handheld remotes or a smartphone app. The intuitive interface makes it simple to stream different tracks to individual rooms or synchronise audio throughout the entire property with just a few taps.
NETWORKING & WIFI
Networking
The owner had reported frequent issues with the previous network and wireless setup, which had become increasingly unreliable due to ad-hoc changes made over the years, as well as mismatched equipment and poor cabling.
To resolve these issues, we designed and installed a brand new network infrastructure, using high-performance Araknis equipment throughout. This involved running over 300 metres of new CAT6 network cable to link dedicated wireless access points in every room back to a centralised hub.
The result is a robust, high-speed network that provides seamless connectivity and effortlessly supports heavy bandwidth demands, whether for streaming, remote working, or managing the property’s smart systems, all without interruption.
SURVEILLANCE
Camera System
The existing network cameras were seamlessly integrated into the new Control4 system, enabling them to be viewed and managed from any touchscreen on the premises, or remotely via the smartphone app.
Additional cameras were installed in the wine cellar to protect the property’s valuable wine collection. These cameras are connected to a high-capacity network video recorder (NVR) which provides continuous recording and up to 90 days of playback history, offering total peace of mind.
ULTIMATE MOVIE EXPERIENCE
Bespoke Home Cinema
Due to outdated equipment and a complex legacy design, the original home cinema room was notoriously difficult for the owner and staff to operate. Working closely with Control4 engineers, we planned a complete renovation of the space to deliver the ultimate cinematic environment.

The audio system was upgraded to the latest Dolby Atmos standard featuring a 7.2.4 speaker configuration (13 speakers in total), guaranteeing deeply immersive sound from every seat in the room.
A massive 133-inch screen now anchors the space, spanning the entire front wall. We selected a versatile 16:9 aspect ratio to provide the highest quality performance for everything from live sports and television to dedicated movie nights. Paired with Sony’s latest 4K projector, the setup delivers an incredibly sharp, vibrant picture.
